Emmerdale studio experience, shopping at York & Leeds and more

I am a huge fan of mini breaks as it's perfect just to get away for a few days. On Wednesday I went away for 2 days with my Mam, we travelled with National Holidays that provides a variety of mini breaks. My Mam is a huge fan of Emmerdale as it's her favourite soap, so this trip was perfect for her. I like the soap but I was more looking forward for the 'free time' spent in York and Leeds aka shopping time.

Wednesday's MOTD and OOTD
I had plenty of time to get ready in the morning as the coach wasn't leaving until 11am.
Makeup wise I used products that I knew I really liked, photographed well and most importantly would last all day/night.
I am aware I do wear a lot of makeup, it's just my own personal preference.

Smashbox photo finish
Estee Lauder Double Wear:1N2 ECRU
Colour corrector
MUA Pro base: Peach
Under my eyes to get rid of any dark shadows
Mac pro long wear: NW15
Under the eyes, down the centre of the nose, cupids bow
Contour Stick
W7 contour stick: medium
Down the edges of the nose (to make my nose look straighter and more defined), under my cheek bones and under my bottom lip (to make my lips look fuller)

Under the eyes
Estee Lauder tone correcting powder: chic to cheek
Set under eyes as it gives the area a brighter look
All over face powder
Mac Prolong wear powder: Light
Adds slightly more coverage and makes your makeup last longer
Urban Decay De slick mattifying powder
I use this throughout the day when my face starts to become shiny. As it controls oil well and doesn't make your makeup look cakey.
Benefit Hoola
Cheekbones, temples, under my jaw, under my bottom lip (to create fullness) down the sides of my nose
Urban Decay Beached bronzer: Bronzed
Cheeks, temples, under my jaw and blended down onto my neck
Benefit Dallas
Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow pomade: Taupe
This colour suits me whether my hair has just been freshly bleached or when my roots start coming through.
Rimmel Brow this way styling gel: 004 Clear
This just keeps my brows in place all day/night.
Eyeshadow primer
The Balm: put a lid on it
All over the lid and blended up towards the brow bone
Brow bone and inner corner highlight
Bare Minerals loose pigment: White
This is the whitest eyeshadow I have ever used. It's really pigmented and really easy to blend.
Eyeshadow foil/glitter
Touch in Sol metallist liquid foil eyeshadow: Margaret
I used my bronzer (Benefit Hoola) and my bronzer (Urban Decay beached bronzer: Bronzed)
Crease, Outer V and lower lash line
Benefit Roller lash: Black
Adds length to your lashes
Estee Lauder Sumptuous extreme: 01 Extreme black
Adds volume and length
Eye liner
Maybelline 24hr gel eye liner: Black
This does not budge or smudge. The best eye liner I have ever used.
Essence lip liner: Honey Berry
I slightly over draw my lips to make them look more fuller

This lasts most of the day even when eating/drinking
Setting spray
Rimmel Insta fix & go spray
This kept my makeup on all day/night and looking fresh

What we got up to on Wednesday
On Wednesday we spent a few hours in York. I have been to York before but not to actually have a look around the shops. Whilst there we decided to have a look in York Minister and then do some shopping

York Minister

Whenever I go out shopping the chances of me buying something from Mac is pretty high as Mac is one of my favourite brands. I ended up buying a lipstick.
When you think of York one of the things you think of is Betty's tea rooms. So obviously I had to get something from there.

Afterwards/the Hotel
I totally forgot to take any photos of the hotel room etc but this is what the bar looked like. We stayed in Wool Merchant Hotel for a 3 star hotel it was one of the nicest places to stay in. The rooms were a good size, clean and have tea/coffee/biscuits in your room.
Food wise we had a 3 course meal. I was planning to take photos of the food but I never as we had to sit in groups and all the ladies were older compared to me. So they wouldn't understand the blogging concept. Also, I never liked the food.

New Look
Michael Kors
Butler & Wilson 'Panda' necklace
My makeup stayed the same. I only had to re apply powder as I was shiny and re apply my lipstick.

Thursday is when we actually went to the Emmerdale studio experience and then shopping in Leeds afterwards.

My makeup is exactly the same as the day before. The only difference is I used different lip products.
Lip liner
Rimmel: East End Snob
Bare Minerals: Fly High

Miss Selfridge
The belt came with the dress
I was going to wear 'prettier' shoes but I knew I would be doing a lot of walking. So I decided to go with these, as they are the comfiest shoes I own.

Emmerdale Studio Experience

The tour is ideal for any Emmerdale fan as you get to experience what the set really looks like, behind the scenes and to find out information about the last members. For the 'Beauty and Benice' tour the tour guide asked for volunteers. As nobody else wanted to do it, I decided to put myself forward to be 'in charge' of lighting. The part that I found the most interesting was the makeup room as the tour guide talked about the makeup used on the characters, how long it takes to apply it etc. On the desk you could see the actual makeup products which included: Mac, Dior, Real Techniques etc.

Leeds shopping
My Birthday is in October (so a while away yet) but whilst there my Mam was buying me some of my birthday presents. I originally wanted a particular designer handbag, we went in the shop and it was sold out.
Victoria's Secret is one of the shops I wanted to go to as they do so many pretty pieces.
We only had 3 hours to shop in Leeds which is nowhere near long enough!

Overall, I had a really good couple of days away and it was nice to have a break. If you are a Emmerdale fan I would recommend going on the tour as you will like it. My Mam thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel was really nice and if I was in the area again, I would stay in the same hotel. Apart from London, York and Leeds are some of the best and nicest places to shop. I would go back in the future as I never had enough time to go in all the shops etc. This is a bad thing for me, good for my bank balance.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this post, even though it's so long! But I wanted to include everything in one post and not leave anything out.

Max Factor: Smooth Miracle Primer and Miracle foundation review

I was kindly sent these products to review
Max Factor is such an iconic brand that has been around for years. I can remember Nana using it and even my Mam. When I got the chance to try out some Max Factor makeup I was really happy (infact I screamed inside) When I opened the package I was really happy with what was inside. The Smooth Miracle Primer and Miracle Touch Foundation. Both products claim to smooth the skin textures. Also, these products are advertised on TV and the models skin looks flawless. Anything that claims to make your skin look flawless and smooth I will try. As you all know I love a flawless, smooth and full coverage base.
Smooth Miracle Primer I 'secretly' hoped that this would have been one of the products in the package, as I really wanted to try it out. So when I saw this product I was thrilled. The bottom picture above is the primer using a small pump and on the right (which you can't see) it is blended out. I applied the primer all over my face and I…

W7 makeup review and swatches

W7 are such an affordable brand with great quality products. They do a wide selection of different products and shades. I kindly got sent these products to review. When my packaged arrived I was really happy to see what was in the box. When I opened my parcel I wasn't disappointed as each of these products look amazing. In this blog post I will be sharing my opinions on the products and swatches. I have previously reviewed W7 products here. In that blog post I reviewed W7 prime and glow illuminating primer, Genius feather light foundation, Kiss me lip plumping gloss and cheeky chap multi blush. W7 do not test on animals.
W7 Powder Puff When I saw this in the box I was really excited as I've wanted to try this for a while. Also it is pink which I love as pink is my favourite colour.
The powder puff is latex free
Before I use this sponge I dampen it as foundation, concealer blends out better when doing so.
To create the flawless finish I bounce the sponge off my skin it also stops y…
