Rimmel #Insta collection review

Taking selfies and uploading them onto Instagram is something the majority of us do. Whether it's because we are going out on a night out, to an event or because we liked how our hair looked that day. You want to show the best version of yourself. Rimmel have recently launched the #Insta range*. I was really excited when I saw these and couldn't wait to try them. As whenever I take a selfie I like my skin to look flawless, contoured and matte.

Insta conceal and correct palette
This is a tone correcting palette to conceal the imperfections that you want to cover on your fac
Peach
Takes away the appearance of dark circles. It does this because the peach tone counteracts the dark circles.
Green
Covers any redness on the skin
Lilac
Use on any areas of your face that look 'dull' and on dark spots to brighten the area.

How to use
I prefer to apply these before my foundation etc.
Either use your finger to dab onto your skin or a makeup brush

My opinion
This palette is one of my go to face palettes for tone correcting as it's compact, all the colours are easy to blend and apply well on the skin.
I use the peach shade the most and I only have to apply a small amount to cover my dark circles. These are long lasting on the skin and don't cling to any dry areas.

Insta conceal and contour palette
These palettes come in 3 different shades:
10 Light
20 Medium
30 Dark

10 Light
20 Medium
30 Dark

Each palette contains 3 different shades:
Highlight
To use on your cheekbones, cupids bow, brow bone etc
Conceal
To use under your eyes
On blemishes
To cover redness
Contour
To use under your cheekbones, down the sides of your nose, temples, under the jaw

How to use
This work really well if you apply them with a brush or just by using your fingers.
You can apply this either before or after foundation.

My opinion
These palettes are really compact and ideal to have in any makeup collection as you have 3 different shades in a compact palette. They apply and blend out really well on the skin.

Insta duo contour and highlight stick
These come in 3 different shades:
100 Light
200 Medium
300 Dark

100 Light
200 Medium
300 Dark

Left side: Highlight
Right: Contour

How to use
Either before or after foundation
Highlight
Cupids bow
Cheekbones
Brow bone
Down the centre of the nose
Contour
Cheekbones
Down the sides of the nose
Under the jaw
Temple

Apply straight from the stick then blend out, either using your fingers or a brush.

My opinion
This product is a staple in my makeup bag. I love how quick and easy it is to use. It blends out really nicely on the skin. By using a brush to blend the product out gives a more flawless finish. This lasts on my skin all day without going patchy etc. You can layer this product up to intensify the colour.

Insta fix and matte powder
This powder is translucent so any skin tones can use it.

How to use
Use to set your foundation, concealer etc with a powder brush.

My opinion
A face powder is a must to set your makeup for the day, for touch ups throughout the day etc. I apply a light layer of this powder in the morning and then throughout the day to stop excess shine. I like my skin to look matte as I tend to get shiny as the day progresses. This powder is ideal to have in your handbag as it's compact.

Insta fix and go setting spray
This is a 2 in 1 product, a primer and a setting spray.

How to use
To use as a primer spray directly onto your face before makeup.
To use as a setting spray -  spray directly onto your face after makeup

My opinion
A setting spray is a must especially when the weather is hot and if you want your makeup to last all day/night.
I really like using this setting spray as it keeps my makeup on all day/night even when it is hot. You can't feel the product once it dries on your skin (it dries within a matter of seconds)
This is my current go to setting spray to sure my makeup stays in place.

How the products look when applied on the face

My overall opinion
Overall, I am really impressed with the Rimmel Insta range. All of the products are really good quality and affordable. They create a flawless finish on the face. These products I reach for on a daily bases and I really enjoy using them.

Everything 5 pounds lookbook

Everything 5 pounds is an online retailer that sell clothes, shoes, jackets etc all for £5. There are so many choices on the website to pick from. I was given the opportunity to pick 9 items from the website to feature on my blog. With that I've decided to create a lookbook of all of the clothes. I am really happy with them all and ideal to dress either up or down. I decided to pick 7 dresses as they are mainly what I wear and are really versatile. Shoe wise I went with a classic black pair of heels and a black wedge.
For Reference I am 5ft 4 so the length of the dresses will differ on you depending on your height. All the dresses that I ordered are a size 8. All of the dresses are true to size and accurate. Same with the shoes they are true to size.
All the clothes in this post should still be available to buy online. The clothes on Everything 5 pounds tend to go out of stock quickly.

Max Factor: Smooth Miracle Primer and Miracle foundation review

I was kindly sent these products to review
Max Factor is such an iconic brand that has been around for years. I can remember Nana using it and even my Mam. When I got the chance to try out some Max Factor makeup I was really happy (infact I screamed inside) When I opened the package I was really happy with what was inside. The Smooth Miracle Primer and Miracle Touch Foundation. Both products claim to smooth the skin textures. Also, these products are advertised on TV and the models skin looks flawless. Anything that claims to make your skin look flawless and smooth I will try. As you all know I love a flawless, smooth and full coverage base.
Smooth Miracle Primer I 'secretly' hoped that this would have been one of the products in the package, as I really wanted to try it out. So when I saw this product I was thrilled. The bottom picture above is the primer using a small pump and on the right (which you can't see) it is blended out. I applied the primer all over my face and I…
