Essence 'Festival makeup' challenge and mini reviews

Essence is one of my favourite makeup brands as they are really affordable and have amazing products. Every time I go into Wilko's I always buy something from the Essence makeup stand. They are my favourite makeup brand on the high street.
I was delighted when I got asked if I wanted to do a 'Festival makeup challenge'. I love receiving makeup and having to create a look with the products. As this allows me to be creative and try out new looks.
When I opened the parcel I was really happy with everything and couldn't wait to create a look to show you all. I uploaded a mini video showing you a sneak peak of the products on Twitter here.

Reviews on the products and swatches

Soft & Natural make up long lasting
02 Sand Beige
Left: The foundation out of the tube
Middle: Slightly blended
Right: Fully blended

I really like this foundation as it went on my skin smoothly and blended well. This foundation is light/medium coverage. You can easily build it up to a more medium coverage. As it doesn't get cakey or look like you are wearing a lot of foundation.
At the time of creating this look I never had a concealer from Essence (yesterday I went out to buy one) So I used this foundation as a concealer. I used this under my eyes to eliminate any dark circles and on any blemishes.
This foundation covered all of my imperfections whilst still looking natural. If you hate the feeling of foundation on your skin but you want coverage. Then I would recommend trying out this foundation as it feels lightweight on your skin.
I tested this foundation when it was really hot and my skin was at the most oily. This foundation does what it says, it is long lasting.
I have dry patches around my nose and this never made the patches obvious instead it added moisture into my skin.
This is a really good foundation if you want a light/medium foundation, that's moisturising, lightweight and will last all day.

2 in 1 eyeshadow & liner waterproof
06 She's got the mauve
I used this as an eyeshadow base for the glitter eyeshadow that I applied ontop. This glided onto my eyelid really easily, it never pulled or tugged. This product is also really creamy which allows you to blend the product out. You can build this product up for a more intense look or sheer it out for a more natural look.
This is ideal if you have oily eye lids and find that your eye makeup doesn't last. As this product is waterproof which means it will stay put no matter what.
This can also be used on the waterline, so if you like a minimal product makeup look this product is good to try. As not only is it your eyeshadow it's also an eye liner aswell.
In addition to this, I have hooded eye lids and this product didn't crease on my eyes.

11 Tiffunny

This eyeshadow is beautiful and looks really pretty on the eyelid. With glitters they can make a mess on your eyes because of the fall out. But this eyeshadow is glittery without all of the fall out.
I applied this eyeshadow just using a brush and I got no fall out using it and it went on my eyes evenly. This eyeshadow is really soft and creamy. The glitter lasted a long time on my eyelids and was visible.
Instead of reaching for glitters on my eyes I will now be reaching for this product. As it's mess free and you get the same effect as you would a glitter.
If you are a fan of glitters I highly recommend trying out this eyeshadow and you never know you may just prefer this.

Eyeshadow The Velvets
09 Bahama-Mama
I really like the patchwork design of this eyeshadow. This feels exactly what it's called 'Velvet' it is really soft to touch and applies beautifully on the eyes.
You can apply a lot of this product for a more bold look or a light amount for a more sheer look.
I used this on my tear duct as I wanted that bold pop of blue shade.
This lasted very well on my eyes and never settled into any fine lines around my eye area.

All eyes on me waterproof mascara
I really like the brush on this mascara as it's small enough to coat every single lash.
This is one of the best high street mascaras that I have tried as it does everything that I want a mascara to do. It adds length, volume, and separation. As well as curl and thickness.
This mascara is ideal for fesitvals, weddings etc any occasion where you feel as if 'norma' mascara will smudge on you if you cry etc.
I have sensitive eyes and this didn't irritate my eyes at all. It was easy to remove with a eye makeup remover.

Lashes to impress
01 Single Lashes
False Lashes I rarely wear as they are time consuming to put on etc. I find mascara just does the job. But sometimes it's nice to add more definition without having to wear a full strip of false eyelashes. That's where individual lashes come in. As you can create a full strip of false lashes or just add in lashes where you feel like you need them.
I like using individual lashes on the outer part of my eyes to make them look 'bigger' and more 'fluttery'.
These eyelashes are ideal for if you are into eyelashes or just starting out.
If I find these eyelashes to use anyone can as I'm not the best at using false lashes.
These lashes come with glue included. The glue never irriated my eyes and I have sensitive eyes.

Long lasting eye pencil
09 Cool Down (blue shade)
05 C'est La Vie! (silver shade)
These eye liners are really easy to use, they are really pigmented, don't drag on the eyes, long lasting, precise and are really soft.
I applied the blue shade on my waterline and that lasted without smudging or fading. The silver shade I used on my lower lashline, I found it easy to blend out without settling into fine lines.
I really like that these eyeliners are twistable so you don't have to sharpen them constantly. This stops any harsh edges etc and is more practical just to throw in your handbag etc.

Velvet Matt 23
I already own this shade so when I saw this in my parcel I was happy. As I now have a backup of this shade for when my other one runs out.  This really reminds me of Mac Velvet Teddy. I am not into concealer nude lips. This shade is ideal for a nude lip look but it still adds colour to your lips.
Normally with matt lipsticks they tend to be drying and cling to dry patches. With this one I found it glides over any imperfections on your lips and is comfortable to wear throughout the day.

Long lasting lip liner
01 Ready for Red
I am a huge fan of the normal lip liner range. Infact I own all of the shades but I have never tried the long lasting lip liners. Red is a classic lip liner to have in any makeup collection.
This lip liner is really creamy, long lasting, doesn't pull on the lips and it doesn't cling onto any dry patches. A major + with this lip liner is that it's twistable so you don't need to sharpen it.
I will be buying more lip liners from the 'long lasting' range as they are just as good as the 'normal' lip liner range. If you are lip product addict (like me) I recommend trying out Essence lip liners as I prefer them over higher end brands.

Nail Stickers
Tribe'O Metric
Met' Addict
I love nail stickers as they are really easy to use, aren't time consuming and it looks like you have put a lot of effort into doing your nails when you haven't. These stickers are really pretty and go with many different shades of nail varnish.
These are ideal for festivals as they are that 'added' accessory on your nails.
To use these I apply them onto nail varnish then use a topcoat to ensure the sticker stays in place.

My overall opinion
Essence kindly sent me these makeup products but all views are 100% my own. I wouldn't say I like something/something is good if I never thought it was.
I really like all of the products that they have sent me and I will continue to use them in my regular makeup routine etc.
Essence makeup is really affordable and good quality. I will continue to keep buying Essence makeup/nail varnishes as they are one of my favourite brands.
I have reviewed Essence makeup in the past on my blog. If you would like to read the posts then click the links below.

Max Factor: Smooth Miracle Primer and Miracle foundation review

I was kindly sent these products to review
Max Factor is such an iconic brand that has been around for years. I can remember Nana using it and even my Mam. When I got the chance to try out some Max Factor makeup I was really happy (infact I screamed inside) When I opened the package I was really happy with what was inside. The Smooth Miracle Primer and Miracle Touch Foundation. Both products claim to smooth the skin textures. Also, these products are advertised on TV and the models skin looks flawless. Anything that claims to make your skin look flawless and smooth I will try. As you all know I love a flawless, smooth and full coverage base.
Smooth Miracle Primer I 'secretly' hoped that this would have been one of the products in the package, as I really wanted to try it out. So when I saw this product I was thrilled. The bottom picture above is the primer using a small pump and on the right (which you can't see) it is blended out. I applied the primer all over my face and I…

W7 makeup review and swatches

W7 are such an affordable brand with great quality products. They do a wide selection of different products and shades. I kindly got sent these products to review. When my packaged arrived I was really happy to see what was in the box. When I opened my parcel I wasn't disappointed as each of these products look amazing. In this blog post I will be sharing my opinions on the products and swatches. I have previously reviewed W7 products here. In that blog post I reviewed W7 prime and glow illuminating primer, Genius feather light foundation, Kiss me lip plumping gloss and cheeky chap multi blush. W7 do not test on animals.
W7 Powder Puff When I saw this in the box I was really excited as I've wanted to try this for a while. Also it is pink which I love as pink is my favourite colour.
The powder puff is latex free
Before I use this sponge I dampen it as foundation, concealer blends out better when doing so.
To create the flawless finish I bounce the sponge off my skin it also stops y…
