Battle of the concealers: High end vs high street

This is one of my most requested blog posts about the concealers I have tried.
In this blog post I will be talking about my favourite concealers that I have used (and loved) in the past and the concealers I am currently using. The pro's and con's of each.
The main thing that I want my concealers to do is to hide blemishes and to highlight under my eyes.
Concealer shopping is one of the hardest things to do as there are so many on the market.
I have done swatches of the concealers to show what the consistency of what the product is like.
With most of these products the pros will out weigh the cons. As these are my favourite concealers that I've tried. All of these at some point have been in my makeup bag/products I've used everyday.

About my skin
I thought I would briefly mention this as what might work for me, may not work for others.
I have combination skin. My T zone tends to get oily but I also have dry patches.
My cheeks are also quite red and I rarely suffer from breakouts.
I have a neutral skin undertone.

Estee Lauder High Cover concealer
1N1 Extra Light
As you can see I have used this product a lot as I've hit pan (something I rarely do on products).
This is my current favourite multi purpose concealer.
Pros
Multi purpose concealer e.g it can be used to hide redness, blemishes and under eye circles.
Long lasting
Doesn't crease
Creamy
High coverage
Easy to blend
Fragrance free
Good shade range
Easy to travel with as it's small and comes with a mirror
Flawless finish
Cons
If you don't like high coverage products this concealer isn't for you. Although you can sheer it out depending on how you apply it.

Estee Lauder Double Wear stay in place concealer
01 Light
This was the first concealer I bought from Estee Lauder. I bought this product to go with my holy grail foundation (Estee Lauder double wear)
Pros
Covers dark circles
Doesn't crease
Medium coverage
Creamy
Doesn't feel heavy on the skin
Covers blemishes
I found this to make my eyeshadow last longer by using it as an eyeshadow base
Flawless finish
Cons
Packaging can end up looking dirty around the edges

YSL Touche Éclat
This is not classed as a concealer as it's a highlighting pen. But I have decided to include it in this post as it's good to hide under eye circles.
This was the first high end 'concealer' that I bought.
Pros
Hides dark circles
Thin consistency
Beautiful packaging
Adds radiance
Cons
Need to use a concealer underneath to provide coverage
Can't see how much product you have left
Need to set it with concealer to stop creasing

Rimmel lasting finish concealer
010 Porcelain
I bought this as it reminded me of Estee Lauder high cover concealer.
I really like using this concealer and it is currently in my makeup bag.
I use this concealer as a highlighter.
Pros
High coverage
Highlights your under eyes to get rid of eye circles
Can be used to hide blemishes (if you find the right shade to suit your skin tone)
Doesn't crease
Lasts all day
Creamy
Feels comfortable to wear on the skin
Flawless finish
Cons
Can look cakey if you have very dry skin
Needs to be blended in quite quickly as it tends to set fast

Collection Lasting perfection concealer
1 Fair
When I was younger I went through tubes of this concealer as it was my holy grail. Then once I started getting more into makeup I forgot about this product.
A few months ago I decided to repurchase this concealer to see if I really did love it at the time. The answer to that question is yes. It's one of the best concealers on the high street.
Pros
Full coverage
Ideal to highlight under the eyes
If you buy a shade to match your skin tone it conceals blemishes well
Doesn't crease
Easy to blend
Looks flawless on the skin
Doesn't feel heavy on the skin
Cons
Packaging. The writing on the tube tends to rub off
Can get messy around the lid

Collection 2000 Illuminating touch
Naked 1
I bought this as Collection never had my shade in the lasting finish concealer. Just to see what the product was like.
The packaging has since changed on this product.
Pros
Hides under eye circles
Doesn't settle into lines
Lasts for about 6 hours
Light coverage
Ideal to use when you want to achieve a 'natural' makeup look
Cons
Limited shade range
Need to use another concealer if you want a more 'flawless look'
Not suitable for blemishes

Garnier Anti Dark circle eye roll on
Light
I bought this product as it was constantly raved about on YouTube/Blogs at the time.
Pros
Lightweight
Feels nice when you apply it e.g cooling effect because of the metal ball
Good to use everyday
Thin consistence for a 'natural look'
Reflects light
Cons
The light shade wasn't light enough for me
Can't use on blemishes
If you like full coverage/flawless look. This product isn't for you.
Doesn't improve dark circles

Winner of the concealer battle
High end
Estee Lauder High cover concealer
High Street
Rimmel lasting finish concealer

My Overall opinion
I have included a mix of my favourite concealers whether you are after a flawless/full coverage finish or want a more 'natural' finish. It's all down to personal preference. For me I love the full coverage/flawless finish look.

What concealers are in my makeup bag currently
I apply Collection lasting perfection to highlight my under eyes. I then apply Rimmel lasting finish concealer on top just to add more lightness and more coverage. The combination of these two products ensures me to have full coverage under eye highlighted area. I really enjoy and like the finish of these two concealers together.
On blemishes I use Estee Lauder High Cover concealer as this product is amazing at concealing them. When I run out of this product I will continue to repurchase it.

Everything 5 pounds lookbook

Everything 5 pounds is an online retailer that sell clothes, shoes, jackets etc all for £5. There are so many choices on the website to pick from. I was given the opportunity to pick 9 items from the website to feature on my blog. With that I've decided to create a lookbook of all of the clothes. I am really happy with them all and ideal to dress either up or down. I decided to pick 7 dresses as they are mainly what I wear and are really versatile. Shoe wise I went with a classic black pair of heels and a black wedge.
For Reference I am 5ft 4 so the length of the dresses will differ on you depending on your height. All the dresses that I ordered are a size 8. All of the dresses are true to size and accurate. Same with the shoes they are true to size.
All the clothes in this post should still be available to buy online. The clothes on Everything 5 pounds tend to go out of stock quickly.

Max Factor: Smooth Miracle Primer and Miracle foundation review

I was kindly sent these products to review
Max Factor is such an iconic brand that has been around for years. I can remember Nana using it and even my Mam. When I got the chance to try out some Max Factor makeup I was really happy (infact I screamed inside) When I opened the package I was really happy with what was inside. The Smooth Miracle Primer and Miracle Touch Foundation. Both products claim to smooth the skin textures. Also, these products are advertised on TV and the models skin looks flawless. Anything that claims to make your skin look flawless and smooth I will try. As you all know I love a flawless, smooth and full coverage base.
Smooth Miracle Primer I 'secretly' hoped that this would have been one of the products in the package, as I really wanted to try it out. So when I saw this product I was thrilled. The bottom picture above is the primer using a small pump and on the right (which you can't see) it is blended out. I applied the primer all over my face and I…
